About the Set:

This doll was started on September 7, 2005 after I encountered an ad for Power Rangers S.P.D. on some website. I figured it might be fun to make a power ranger set since I watched the show a little bit when I was younger. It was only supposed to be a small, quick set that should have taken me no more than 24 total hours to complete. It was just a project to get me creating KiSS dolls again. That plan fell through, however, when I started doing research and found out that the American series "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" was based on the Japanese "Super Sentai." The more research I did, the more uniforms I found, and I couldn't very well leave any out.

I was dragging my feet on finishing it after I took time out to finish my Frosta set for the Advent Calendar. Then I started up the KiSS Theme Challenges and the first theme was decided to be "space." This set qualified (because they are constantly fighting monsters from space, they've been in space, their uniforms are decidedly spacey - what more do you want?) so I started finishing it as quickly as possible. Holy crap did it take a long time. I used variables and multiple palettes for the first time and required much help from Invisifan, Kim-chan, and a bunch of other people because I just don't have a mind for coding this stuff. On top of all that, it's just a large set - easily the largest I've ever created.

Anyway, there have been dozens of yellow rangers over the years and I've tried to represent them all for this set. I've included every canon uniform I could find, plus some parodies , original designs, and other outfits that fit in pretty well. Her name is Yellow 4 because, as I understand it, the team members in the various Super Sentai series are usually referred to by their color and sometimes a number. The yellow ranger isn't always #4, but it is sometimes so that's the number I picked for this set. I had to fudge a few uniforms to fit, but whatever.

All in all, I'm fairly pleased with how the set turned out. I never cared much for making it a really *good* set - just a finished one. That's why I used one of my existing pixel doll bases and everything is so cookie cutter. I can do better, but doing my best is what keeps me working on projects indefinitely and never getting anything finished.

Drag clothes to the body and they'll snap into place.

Click the "turn snap-to on/off" button to, well, turn snap-to on or off.

Click the "reset wardrobe" button to quickly undress the doll and put everything back where it belongs.

Click the secondary color on some articles of clothing to change the color.

The large capes will snap to different places on the body depending on whether there is large armor present or not.

Changing the page will change the palette, though you can use your viewer to change it manually.
